Air Gear Season 2 Release Date & Promo Trailer

With its action-packed plot and sports related setting, the anime series Air Gear has successfully won over the viewers and has them hooked in the world of  Storm Riders and Ikki. However, much to the displeasure of its fans, the famous series has been discontinued just after its season one completion and left the viewers twisting in their seats because of the impending curiosity.

Without a season two of the air gear anime series, the only way to find out whether Ikki accomplishes his mission of becoming the best Storm Rider or not would be to read the manga this series is adapted from. However, as in the case of many anime enthusiasts, this idea is not as much appealing to them as watching the actual series is and they would thus move on to another series eventually enough.

The real question stays intact however and in this article we will try to figure out if an Air Gear season 2 should be expected soon or not. This will be calculated based on factors that usually contribute to any series getting a sequel being the source material available, the popularity of the series and its production and revenue generation estimates. Based on these responses, the probability of a series getting a sequel can be determined most of the times.

Most of the anime series are based on popular light novels and manga. In this scenario, it is vital to know the total volume of these light novels and the status of their updates to calculate the amount of source material available for the anime series to adapt.

Such is also the case with AirGear which is based on the manga written by Oh! Great. This manga consists of 37 volumes and was concluded in 2012, about eigth years ago. Since then no further plans or news are made regarding any spin-offs of the series or publishing of new light novels.

Another thing to shed light on in this aspect is regarding how much content has already been covered by the anime series in its previous seasons. In the case of Air Gear s1, the first twelve volumes were adapted while the three OVA made use of the 16th,23rd and 24th volumes of the manga. This leaves more than twenty volumes that are yet to be covered.

Based on these figures, even though plenty of material is available were a season two to be launched, a major held back in this regard is the fact that the manga was completed almost eight years ago and since then has probably lost most of its dedicated fans and enthusiasts.

The official website of Air Gear was last updated in 2006 with news regarding staff interviews. Since then no activity has been seen or interaction between fans has taken place. A further downgrade to its popularity comes in the form of its lacking of any social media handles on sites like Twitter and Facebook.

The Google Trends witnessed a spike in 2011 in the searches of Air Gear but since that time, it has considerably dropped with almost little to no searches as of 2020.

The Manga sales would have added to this failing popularity of the series but the fact that they were completed in 2012 also adds to this aspect instead. With the author currently working on an another manga adaption, no further plans can be seen of the Air Gear Manga being published as of now which stoops its popularity toll even further.

With so little fans in 2020, it makes sense that the merchandise has stopped the release of any new products or figures and has remained almost blank since the past years and can rarely been seen changing now.

To conclude, the series would have gained fans with its initial release but because of the large interval since its premiere and manga being published, it has lost almost all of its followers and fans and failed to keep their spirits alive by the inactiveness and unavailability of social media accounts and website.
